- Digital breast tomosynthesis is a technologically advanced version of a mammogram. It is often better suited for those with dense breast tissue, and is exceptional at detecting breast cancer.
What to Expect
- During your exam, an x-ray arm will move in a small arc over your breast while acquiring multiple low-dose images. These are then reconstructed into a 3D image of the entire breast, providing more detail than a conventional mammogram.
